While there are stages in the Christian journey, the end is the same – eternal life. To experience that eternal life, John calls the believer to abide in the light, to abide in love, to abide in truth, to abide in the anointing of Jesus, and to abide in him. Through this abiding, the believer will be strengthened for every challenge of living in this world.
