Just as an earthly child resembles his father, so God’s children are to resemble him. A child of God will walk as Jesus did – in righteousness, purity, and obedience. John challenges his readers in this section to do a true assessment of their lives. Do their lives reflect the Lord or the devil? John would have them know that their actions speak louder than their words.
